Restoring Receding Gums with One Small Incision
If you do have receding gums, and are interested in changing the way that they look, then Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique (PST™) may be for you. PST™ is different than traditional receding gums treatment in that it does not require scalpels or other invasive tools. A small incision (approximately the size of a pinhole) will be created, and specially designed tools will gently loosen the gum tissue and allow for it to be put atop the receded portion of the tooth. Because this receding gums treatment is minimally invasive, post-operative symptoms, such as bleeding, swelling and pain or discomfort, are uncommon.
Comparing Traditional Gum Grafting with PST™
Unlike traditional gum grafting procedures, PST™ takes the complication away from invasive tools, suturing and an uncomfortable post-operative experience. This procedure also does not require donor tissue or soft tissue grafts to rebuild the gum line. The cosmetic results from PST™ are immediate, and recovery time following the procedure is minimal.
