Meet Chesapeake Periodontist Dr. Cavallari
Dr. Kenneth Cavallari has been in the private practice of Periodontics and Dental Implants in the Tidewater area since 1994. He grew up in Long Island, New York where he completed his dental studies at The State University of New York at Stony Brook. After receiving his dental degree, Dr. Cavallari graduated from a 2 year residency in Periodontics and Dental Implants at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1992. He is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at Alabama and teaches residents in the post-graduate clinic when his schedule permits. In 2001, Dr. Cavallari completed the requirements and received his board certification in Periodontics and was recognized as a Diplomate of the American Academy of Periodontology. He was also named as a Diplomate to the International Congress of Oral Implantologists that same year.
Dr. Cavallari is a strong proponent of furthering his knowledge in the dental field and also of sharing that knowledge with his peers. He is very active in the dental community and is the director and founding member of the Tidewater chapter of the internationally acclaimed Seattle Study Club. The Seattle Study Club is a premier network of dental professionals who further their knowledge in the ever changing field of dentistry in order to provide their patients with excellent care. The Tidewater chapter of the SSC members are all local dental professionals who are eager to learn from world renowned speakers and clinicians.
Dr. Cavallari is excited to bring new and innovative technology to Hampton Roads and has been recognized as one of the leading authorities on Implant Dentistry in our community. As a pioneer of minimally invasive surgical techniques in bone and soft tissue grafting, he is the first in the area to utilize the LANAP* laser procedure to treat gum disease and peri-implantitis.
In addition to his wife Kim, Dr. Cavallari has 3 children (Michael, Ashley, and Kate) as well as 2 grandchildren (Will and Riley). Dr. Cavallari feels that he owes much of his success in life to the women who surround him, especially his wife and his mother who raised him as a single parent. He is extremely grateful that he has been able to repay his mother for all she sacrificed to help him achieve his goals.
