Meet Dr. Cavallari, Periodontist in Virginia Beach & Virginia Beach VA

Dr. Kenneth Cavallari has been in the private practice of Periodontics and Dental Implants in the Tidewater area since 1994.  He grew up in Long Island, New York where he completed his dental studies at The State University of New York at Stony Brook.  After receiving his dental degree, Dr. Cavallari graduated from a 2-year residency in Periodontics and Dental Implants at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1992.

He is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at Alabama and teaches residents in the post-graduate clinic when his schedule permits. In 2001, Dr. Cavallari completed the requirements and received his board certification in Periodontics, and was recognized as a Diplomate of the American Academy of Periodontology.  He was also named a Diplomate to the International Congress of Oral Implantologists that same year.

Dr. Cavallari is a strong proponent of furthering his knowledge in the dental field and also of sharing that knowledge with his peers.  He is very active in the dental community and was a director and founding member of the Tidewater chapter of the internationally acclaimed Seattle Study Club.

Dr. Cavallari is excited to bring new and innovative technology to Hampton Roads and has been recognized as one of the leading authorities on Implant Dentistry in our community. As a pioneer of minimally invasive surgical techniques in bone and soft tissue grafting, he is the first in the area to utilize the LANAP* laser procedure to treat gum disease and peri-implantitis.

Dr. Cavallari has been married to his wife Kim since 1994, and she has steadfastly stood by his side both personally and professionally during that time.

Dr. Cavallari has 3 children (Michael, Ashley, and Kate) as well as 2 grandchildren (Will and Riley).  Dr. Cavallari feels that he owes much of his success in life not only to his wife Kim but his mother Gloria as well, who raised him as a single parent. He is extremely grateful that he was able to repay his mother for all she sacrificed to help him achieve his goals, although Gloria sadly passed away in 2023.
