A less invasive approach to autogenous gum grafting. Rather than utilizing a patient’s own tissue from the palate, Alloderm or Allograft is used to treat areas of recession. Soft tissue allograft may come from a donor source but can also be in a collagen matrix form. The Alloderm will bond to the existing tissue in your mouth, allowing it to grow and help to restore the lost and receded gum tissue. There are proteins in the gum tissue which will integrate the graft to model itself around the tooth.
